A special ‘Thank You’ to many

Dear Editor: As I leave the Jersey City Division of Cultural Affairs I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who supported me throughout my tenure as the Director of Cultural Affairs. I would like to thank Mayor Bret Schundler for the opportunity he has given me to serve the people of Jersey City. I would like to thank Downtown Councilman (the Councilman for the Arts) Mariano Vega for his friendship, leadership and commitment to the arts. I would like to thank Councilman L. Harvey Smith for his leadership and friendship and his commitment to principles. Special thanks to Charles and Annie Kessler for their friendship and vision for the arts in Jersey City. I would like to thank all the ethnic committees, artists and musicians with whom I have had the honor to know and work, my Director, Jessie Correa for her friendship and leadership. Most importantly I want to thank the people I work with at Cultural Affairs who work very hard every day, with a special thanks to Adele Cerwinski, my administrative assistant who has been very helpful and with whom it was a pleasure to work. Many of you will be wondering what I will be doing in the future. Rest assured, I will still be active in Jersey City. I will continue to serve as a Commissioner on the Zoning Board, as a Trustee of the Library Board, and as a member of the Artist Certification Board. I will be spending the rest of my time with my family, and on my career as an artist. I have many exciting projects coming up, including the exhibit this summer at the Montclair Museum. And remember, you can always see my work at the Palette Gallery on Jersey Avenue. It has been a real honor to serve. Thank you. Orlando Rodriguez Cuevas, Director Division of Cultural Affairs
